How to Wear Wedding Ring Properly
The double rings ceremony, as we now commonly hold where both partners in a marriage receive rings, is actually a relatively new practice. Therefore, Wedding rings, the ultimate symbol of marriage and love, are important and valuable items. The proper way to wear engagement ring, however, is disputable. The Greek believed a vein in the ring finger of the left hand led directly to the heart, which is why wedding rings are worn on the left hand finger. So putting a Wedding ring worn here closer to the heart is better than a ring worn on any other finger. Here are some instructions for you to wear Wedding Ring correctly.
Step 1
Many people wear their rings with the wedding ring on first, with the engagement ring on the out most side of the finger in the tradition that the wedding ring should be “closest to the heart.” Others say they do so as to ‘protect’ their wedding ring.
Step 2
Others document that engagement ring should be worn first, then the wedding ring to signify the series of events or to “seal” the marriage. Furthermore some say the wedding band should be worn on the outside to protect the monetary and symbolic value of the engagement ring.
Step 3
Additional feedback, although not as popular, suggested that the wedding ring be worn alone, with the engagement ring either put into safe keeping or onto the right hand.
Step 4
Another modern tradition in the United States is a three piece set which includes the man’s wedding band, the woman’s engagement ring, and a slender ‘wedding’ band that is mounted to the engagement ring before the wedding, converting it into a single, permanent wedding ring.
Step 5
In summary the majority of people stated that their belief led them to wear their wedding ring first, then the engagement ring to follow the “closest to the heart” belief, but there is no official way that a wedding set must be worn as it is only a symbol of marriage and it is the marriage that really matters.
